Dental Services
The team at Windsor Hills Family Dentistry is dedicated to providing high-quality dental care for your entire family.
Pediatric Dentistry
A big part of dental care for kids is education—giving them the peace of mind of knowing what to expect and providing them with the knowledge they need to take good care of their teeth. From their first visit, sometime between the eruption of their first tooth and age one, we will put them at ease as we examine, clean, apply topical fluoride, and teach proper brushing and flossing techniques. If your child needs a filling, with your permission we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to relax them during the process.
Sleep Apnea
Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a sleep disorder that causes a person to stop breathing for short periods of time due to an obstruction of the airway. The person gasps, snorts, or chokes when the body tries to resume normal breathing. This can lead to excessive tiredness and low oxygen levels in the bloodstream, leading to heart issues and other serious health risks.
Dr. Chris is happy to evaluate you for sleep apnea. If you are a candidate for a dental sleep apnea appliance, they will assist you in obtaining one that is created especially for you. They push the jaw forward to prevent the throat muscles and tissues from collapsing and blocking the airways while you sleep. Don’t risk your health, call us at 563-557-7400 to make an appointment to discuss sleep apnea.

From this, several aligners will be made for you. At each follow-up visit, every six to eight weeks, we will provide you with your next set of aligners. FAQs
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we are accepting new patients.

If you are able to complete the patient forms online, there is no need to arrive early.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Please print and complete our New Patient Form and Medical History Form prior to your visit.
How long will my first appointment last?
During your initial appointment with Dr. Chris, you can expect the session to last approximately one hour. The appointment will include a thorough oral examination, and the capturing of any required digital x-rays and imaging studies. Following the exam, Dr. Chris will engage in a discussion with you about the findings and present potential options for addressing any identified concerns that may need additional attention. Together, you and Dr. Chris will collaborate on devising a tailored treatment plan that aligns with both your dental needs and financial considerations.
Do you offer emergency appointments?
If you find yourself in a dental emergency, we prioritize offering same-day appointments to address your urgent needs. Our emergency dental care is designed to alleviate pain and manage any infections effectively. The range of emergency services we provide covers various situations, including dealing with issues like an abscessed tooth, accidents or injuries, bleeding or swelling, broken, chipped, or lost teeth, child emergencies, dislodged crowns or veneers, extractions, loose or lost fillings, jaw pain or headaches, root canal therapy, and toothaches. Rest assured that our team is dedicated to delivering prompt and comprehensive care to address your dental emergency concerns.
How often should I visit the dentist?
Individuals at heightened risk of oral diseases should schedule dental appointments every three to six months, while those at lower risk can opt for check-ups every one to two years. For children, it is recommended to have dental check-ups every six months.
What kinds of insurance do you accept?
We accept the majority of major dental insurance. Prior to commencing any dental procedures, our team will discuss your services with you and provide a cost estimate, ensuring transparency throughout. Feel free to inquire about any insurance-related queries or fee details; we are here to address all your concerns.
It is important to note that you are accountable for copayments, deductibles, and any additional expenses not covered by your insurance. Additionally, we accommodate various payment options, including major credit cards and CareCredit, and offer financing solutions for uninsured patients.
At what age should I start taking my child to see the dentist?
The purpose of your child’s initial dental appointment is to establish a sense of comfort and familiarity with the dentist. It is advisable for the first dental visit to take place by the age of 12 months or within six months of the eruption of the first tooth.
Why should I floss, isn't brushing enough?
Flossing plays a crucial role in oral hygiene as it eliminates plaque from areas beyond the reach of your toothbrush. The timing of your flossing routine is up to you, but incorporating it into your morning or evening schedule is typically most effective in maintaining oral health.
Why does the dentist take X-rays?
Dentists use X-rays to assist in diagnosing and treating dental problems by providing insights into the underlying conditions of your teeth and gums.
What can I do about sensitive teeth?
To alleviate teeth sensitivity, consider using desensitizing toothpaste for sensitive teeth regularly and apply a thin layer to exposed tooth roots before bedtime. Maintain good oral hygiene practices by brushing and flossing thoroughly, opt for a soft-bristled toothbrush to minimize abrasion, and watch your intake of acidic foods to prevent enamel erosion and increased sensitivity. Incorporate fluoridated dental products like mouth rinse into your daily routine, address teeth grinding with a night mouth guard, and ensure regular dental visits for professional exams, cleanings, and fluoride treatments.
Do you offer orthodontics?
Achieve discreet teeth straightening with Invisalign® clear aligners. Through a fully digital approach, we utilize teeth scans to design a customized treatment plan aimed at shifting your teeth to their ideal alignment. Following this, a series of aligners will be crafted for you. During regular check-ups every six to eight weeks, you will receive the next set of aligners. Over the course of approximately one year, Invisalign gently guides your teeth into their desired position. Reach out to us for further details!
How long will the results of teeth whitening last?
The effects of teeth whitening can persist for varying durations, ranging from several months to as long as 3 years. The longevity of the results is influenced by factors such as the specific treatment method, lifestyle habits (e.g., diet and smoking), and post-treatment dental care. Typically, professional whitening procedures tend to have more enduring effects compared to over-the-counter alternatives.
Do whitening toothpastes work?
Yes, whitening toothpastes have the potential to eliminate surface stains and brighten teeth by one to two shades.
